Poem- Malcolm X

Growing up in Lansing
During the hard times
My mama white, my daddy black
Five other brothers and sisters
My daddy dying when I was eight
My mom going crazy
Can't think straight
Moving away, top of my class
Becoming a Mascot is not so bad
The only black amongst these whites
Something don't seem right
Can't be a lawyer
Psh who told me that
Your wrong matter of fact
Guess what? I'm moving away
That's what you get
For making me go astray
Drugs, sex, theft, yea I did it
To bad I'm with Stephany
Jail, yea I'm hard core
But now I'm changing
For better more
